**Job Summary** Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. **Responsibilities** - Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician. - Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient. - Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan. - Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines. - Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures. - Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff. - Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement. - Completes assigned goals. - Performs other duties as assigned. **Specifications** **Experience** **Minimum Required** - Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program. **Preferred/Desired** **Education** **Minimum Required** - Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with current Registry in Radiography ARRT(R) or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry. **Preferred/Desired** - Associates degree in related field **Training** **Minimum Required** **Preferred/Desired** **Special Skills** **Minimum Required** - Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. - Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work. **Preferred/Desired** **Licensure** **Minimum Required** - ARRT(R); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire. New graduate who will obtain required registry within 120 days of hire. State license as required. **Preferred/Desired**
