**Open Until Filled** **GENERAL DESCRIPTION:** The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a qualified **Technician Operations Technician II** to support the safe and efficient operation of the state’s transportation system. This position provides essential technical and operational support, maintaining the State of Wyoming's public safety communication systems; including WyoLink as well as other public messaging systems. These communication and messaging systems are heavily relied upon by first responders and other emergency workers in their mission ensuring the health, safety and the welfare of the public. The role of this position is vital in maintaining these systems, and other equipment Wyoming's public safety agencies require, guaranteeing they are operational 24/7 365 days a year. This includes circuit components (diodes, resistors, breakers, etc. - The ability to explain the difference between frequency bands, VHF versus UHF/800 MHZ - Knowledge of the FCC rules and regulations governing telecommunications and radio operations. - Knowledge of the following system components and the ability to troubleshoot them: Antenna, connections, mistuned equipment. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** **Education:** Bachelor's Degree **Experience:** 0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Technical Operations) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Technical Operations Technician I **Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:** Some agencies may require a valid Class C driver's license. **PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:** - May work in extreme weat…
