# Team Lead – Utility P&C ## About the Position As a Team Lead in the P&C Utility Substations group, you will manage a team comprised of engineers, drafters, designers, and/or technicians. This role will have Utility (IOUs, Municipalities, Co-Ops) project focus. Your primary responsibility will be the accurate, timely, and quality completion of Electrical Engineering scopes assigned to the team. As a P&C Team Lead, you will contribute to the development and refinement of internal processes and workflows that improve quality, consistency, and efficiency across the department. TLs are responsible for promoting, implementing, and reinforcing these processes while serving as a mentor and coach to their team. Team Leads support the professional and technical development of employees, encouraging accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. **Salary Range:** $100,000 - $150,000 / year The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market. This opportunity is available to both local / in-office (Lakewood, CO) and full-time remote candidates. ## Essential Responsibilities - Understands and leads detailed design of all aspects of protection and control packages to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project scheduling - Coordinates and analyses computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, motor starting, power factor, harmonic analysis, and other related studies to implement in protection and control design packages - Understands how protective relay settings affects drawing implementation - Reviews equipment data sheets, manuals, and testing reports for design and approvals as needed - Seeks opportunities for value engineering and efficiencies in design ### As a Team Lead: - Assigns work to and coordinates work with entry-level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff - Reviews and verifies the work of engineers, designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy - Manages and supports employee development and growth through individualized development plans - Supports business development via Seller-Doer, assists with marketing tasks, and prepares proposals as needed - Assists with establishing and managing engineering budget and scope expectations. Prepare technical write-up for applicable change orders - Reviews submittals for conformance with client specifications and design - Provides field assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports - Maintains professional understanding of all applicable Codes and Standards, and construction practices - Maintains strong and responsive Company-Client relationships, particularly for communication pertaining to specific assignments and meeting topics - Maintains high ethical and professional standards - Works additional time beyond 40 hours/week to complete projects, proposals and/or administrative functions, as required - Attends conferences, training workshops, seminars, regular undergraduate, and graduate classes as appropriate for advancement and as required to maintain quality of work - Checking the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy as required - Understanding and applications of applicable Codes and Standards - Attends safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines - Other job-related responsibilities as assigned ## Must Have - Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred - Experience: 8+ years of relevant engineering or field experience - Licensure:…
