Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1. Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) & Intervention - Plan, design, and execute intensive, research-based Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics, aligning student accommodations with standard courses of study. - Develop and teach specialized curricula targeting functional social skills, emotional regulation, and sustainable coping strategies to support students' behavioral and emotional independence. - Incorporate Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) frameworks seamlessly into daily classroom routines, structural expectations, and individual student interventions. 2. IEP Compliance, Documentation & Case Management - Demonstrate absolute proficiency in case management, including drafting compliant, legally defensible, and high-quality Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). - Formulate precise, measurable, and rigorous annual IEP goals tailored to individual student needs. - Systematically track, graph, and analyze student progress data toward academic and behavioral objectives to ensure data-informed decision-making during annual reviews. - Coordinate and facilitate formal IEP meetings, ensuring all statutory timelines, procedural safeguards, and administrative compliance metrics are met. 3. Behavioral De-escalation & Crisis Support - Utilize Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) principles and non-violent de-escalation techniques to proactively diffuse escalating behaviors and maintain a safe, regulated learning environment. - Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and construct, implement, and monitor comprehensive Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). - Provide real-time coaching and regulation strategies to students experiencing emotional dysregulation, emphasizing restorative practices and proactive coping mechanisms. 4. Multidisciplinary Collaboration & Teamwork - Maintain a positive and solution-oriented teamwork ethic, working dynamically alongside general education teachers, support staff, and administrators. - Co-plan and consult with general education partners to ensure the seamless implementation of accommodations, modifications, and differentiated instructional techniques in inclusive settings. - Collaborate fluidly with specialized staff (e.g., School Psychologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists) to deliver unified, holistic support services. 5.
