The Commission is currently seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant at the Work Readiness Academy in Union, New Jersey. This experienced and dedicated individual will support students with disabilities (ages 18-21) in developing work-readiness skills while participating in unpaid internships in business throughout Union County. Responsibilities include implementing instructional strategies under the guidance and direction of the supervising special education teacher; recording observations and student assessment data; and providing ongoing feedback and interim progress reports. Description: * Part-Time, 10-Month Position (Sep-June) * 3 or 4 days per week; hours are 9:00 am-1:00 pm * NJ Pension Enrollment (DCRP) * Earned Sick Days * Opportunities for Potential Summer Employment * Salary: $22.84 hourly Requirements: * High School Diploma * Valid New Jersey Motor Vehicle License & Clean Driving History * High Degrees of Responsibility, Flexibility, and Patience * Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills * Experience working with high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cognitive Impairments and/or Multiple Disabilities preferred. * Candidates with 60+ college credits, NJDOE Substitute Teacher Certificate and/or Valid CDL License also given preferential consideration Please complete the online application in its entirety to be considered for an interview.
