This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced relationship builder and strategic leader passionate about education, equity, and social impact. ### Accountabilities: The Vice President, External Relations will lead external growth strategies by developing partnerships, securing funding, and increasing organizational visibility among key stakeholders. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate a compelling mission to government, nonprofit, and education leaders. - Build and execute business development strategies to expand partnerships with new state education agencies and increase organizational reach. - Develop and manage a strong pipeline of prospective partners, including identifying opportunities, initiating relationships, and securing long-term contracts. - Establish connections with decision-makers and present the organization’s mission, model, and impact to potential partners. - Create systems and processes to support effective business development operations and opportunity tracking. - Monitor legislation, state budgets, and policy developments to identify partnership and funding opportunities. - Increase organizational visibility among education leaders, policymakers, advocates, and other influential stakeholders. - Represent the organization at industry conferences, events, and relevant forums through speaking engagements and thought leadership activities. - Develop strategies to strengthen brand reputation and external positioning among key audiences. - Partner with internal leadership teams to maintain and renew existing contracts and funding relationships. - Lead strategies to secure continued financial support through government funding, philanthropic partnerships, and other revenue sources. - Develop and manage foundation fundraising efforts, including grant proposals, reporting, and relationship cultivation. - Support the creation of compelling written materials, presentations, and external communications that advance organizational goals. ## Requirements: The ideal candidate is an accomplished external relations leader with experience driving business development, fundraising, and strategic partnerships within education, nonprofit, government, or related sectors. They should be an influential communicator who can build trust with diverse stakeholders and translate mission-driven goals into measurable growth. - Proven experience developing new business opportunities with government agencies, public institutions, or similar organizations, resulting in multi-year contracts or partnerships. - Strong track record of building and managing relationships with government leaders, nonprofits, community organizations, policymakers, funders, and other external stakeholders. - Exceptional communication skills with the ability to inspire action and clearly articulate mission, strategy, and impact. - Demonstrated success in strategic fundraising, including securing support from foundations and institutional funders. - Strong writing and editing…
