OF VACANCIES:** One (1) or more **AGENCY:** [Office of Tax and Revenue](https://cfo.dc.gov/service/taxes "Office of Tax and Revenue") **DURATION OF APPOINTMENT:** Permanent **COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT:** This position is in a collective bargaining unit. **BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:** This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR), Returns Processing Administration (RPA). The incumbent is responsible for processing complex tax returns and related documents through the final stages of the processing function including analyzing and resolving tax processing problems. Duties include but are not limited to: determining the accuracy of tax returns utilizing basic knowledge of applicable internal procedures and the various tax types processed by RPA; assisting in examining and verifying all tax returns and other documents for completeness and correcting errors or discrepancies on the tax returns using a variety of available tools; preparing various types of remittances, including individual, business, real property, and excise taxes, for deposit to the various bank accounts for the District of Columbia; conducting research utilizing numerous sources to locate missing information to complete returns and determines liability of taxpayers. Performs other related duties as assigned.One (1) years of progressive experience assisting with determining the accuracy of tax returns; examining and verifying tax returns and other documentation for completion; conducting research to locate missing information; developing correspondence and preparing various types of remittances for deposit; and providing prompt and courteous customer service to external and internal customers. Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
