**Netsimco, a Saalex Company** is seeking a **Systems Administrator** in **Newport, RI** to support the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of enterprise information systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for administering Windows and Linux-based environments, supporting networked systems, implementing backup and recovery solutions, and ensuring the reliability, availability, and security of computing infrastructure. This position requires a strong technical foundation in systems administration, troubleshooting, and enterprise technologies. **Position Type:** Full-Time **Salary:** $95k-$110k annually (depending on experience) **Work Location:** Onsite. **Essential Functions:** - Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux operating systems. - Administer enterprise server environments including Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). - Monitor system performance, availability, and security to ensure optimal operation. - Perform hardware and software installations, upgrades, patching, and configuration management. - Support web application servers and associated infrastructure. - Implement and maintain system backup and disaster recovery procedures. - Analyze and resolve system, network, hardware, and software issues. - Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with organizational security requirements. - Support network infrastructure and coordinate with network engineering personnel as needed. - Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and standard operating procedures. - Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and information assurance requirements. - Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users and stakeholders. - Other duties as assigned or required. **Required:** - Minimum of **3 years of professional systems administration experience**. - Current Microsoft certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or equivalent). - At least **1 year of experience in one or more of the following areas:** - Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) - Web application server administration - Network engineering - UNIX/Linux system administration - System backup and recovery - Installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software - Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining server operating systems and enterprise applications. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. **Desired:** - Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Government, or military environments. - Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V. - Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise storage solutions. - Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and security compliance frameworks. - Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS. - Additional certifications such as Security+, Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE, or equivalent. **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. **Security Clearance:** Active Top Secret clearance required.
