No weekends, holidays, or call required.** - Prepares and maintains the sterile field by setting up instruments, supplies, equipment, medications, and patient positioning for surgical procedures. - Assists the surgeon during procedures by passing instruments and supplies while maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique. - Performs surgical counts with the circulating nurse before the procedure and before wound closure to ensure patient safety. - Prepares and maintains surgical instruments and equipment, including terminal sterilization, room turnover, and readiness for subsequent procedures. - Recognizes and responds appropriately to emergency situations while ensuring accurate handling of surgical specimens and supporting the surgical team throughout the procedure. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** - Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care which addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety age appropriate needs of the patient populations served within the department.
