The Studio Manager is the operational and people leader for 5020 Studios Los Angeles —responsible for day-to-day facility excellence, team performance, client experience, and financial stewardship. This role ensures the studio runs smoothly and safely while delivering a world-class experience to artists, producers, the label, and the partners. What you'll do: Operations & Facility Oversight Lead daily studio operations across all rooms, lounges, and support spaces to ensure flawless readiness. Own facility maintenance plans (preventative + reactive), coordinating vendors and internal facilities staff. Manage vendor relationships and service contracts (HVAC, cleaning, security, internet, building management, technical service providers). Maintain operational standards for safety, cleanliness, security, and client-facing presentation. Ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies (access control, after-hours protocols, incident reporting). Team Leadership: Recruiting, Scheduling & Performance Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard studio engineering and support staff (engineers, assistants, runners, client services). Build weekly/monthly schedules aligned to bookings, sessions, and events; ensure coverage and quick-response staffing. Set performance expectations, coach for excellence, and conduct reviews with clear development plans. Foster a culture of hospitality, urgency, discretion, and technical excellence. Coordinate training for workflows, documentation, room standards, and client experience best practices. Budget Ownership & Financial Oversight Own local operating budget across utilities, vendor services, catering, procurement, repairs, and studio supplies. Approve purchasing, maintain vendor pricing discipline, and track cost-to-session economics. Monitor invoices, reconcile recurring costs, and ensure timely submission/approval with finance. Create quarterly forecasts for maintenance, equipment service, facility upgrades, and event needs. Identify efficiency opportunities (vendor consolidation, supply optimization, scheduling improvements). Local Studio Events Oversight Plan and execute local studio events (label activations, brand partnerships). Coordinate logistics: staffing, security, catering, room configuration, technical needs, guest flow, and run-of-show. Ensure events meet brand standards and provide a premium guest experience. Align events with local business goals and community relationships. Artist & Client Relationship Management Serve as the primary on-site relationship owner for artists, producers, labels, managers, and VIP clients. Ensure sessions are staffed correctly and executed with discretion, hospitality, and proactive problem-solving. Handle escalations quickly and professionally; protect client satisfaction and long-term relationships.
