Student Success Assistant JobID: 745 Position Type: 50 Campus Support Staff/Instructional Assistant Date Posted: 7/15/2026 Location: Griffith Elementary Date Available: 08/03/2026 Closing Date: 08/28/2026 Additional Information: Show/Hide Job Title: Student Success Assistant Reports to: Principal or Designee Salary: Classified Salary Schedule Position Summary: The Student Success Assistant supports student success by assisting with state-mandated English language proficiency assessments and providing proactive student support services throughout the school day. This position helps foster a positive school culture by supporting behavior interventions, facilitating structured student engagement during recess and other non-instructional times, and assisting staff in creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. The Student Success Assistant may administer the Arizona English Language Learner Assessment (AZELLA) and other assessments as assigned in accordance with state requirements and district procedures. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, required.Associate degree or college coursework in education, child development, behavioral health, or a related field, preferred. Experience working with school-aged children, preferred. Experience supporting student behavior and social-emotional development, preferred. Ability to meet Arizona Department of Education requirements for administering AZELLA assessments.Demonstrated proficiency in spoken and written English sufficient to administer state assessments and follow standardized testing procedures with fidelity. Possession of a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment. Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS: Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families. Ability to work patiently, calmly, and effectively with students exhibiting a variety of academic, social, and behavioral needs. Knowledge of age-appropriate behavior management techniques and intervention strategies. Knowledge of playground supervision and student engagement practices. Ability to facilitate structured activities and positive student engagement practices. Ability to read, understand, and accurately follow standardized assessment administration protocols and testing procedures. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with students and staff during assessment administration. Ability to implement district-approved de-escalation and behavior support strategies. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student information. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Essential Functions Assessment Support: Administer AZELLA assessments in accordance with Arizona Department of Education requirements and district procedures. Complete required training and maintain certification necessary to administer assessments. Schedule, organize, and prepare testing materials and testing environments. Ensure assessment security and confidentiality requirements are maintained. Support other district and site assessment activities as assigned. Student Support and Campus Culture: Provide direct support to students requiring behavioral, social-emotional, or organizational assistance. Provide proactive student mentoring and support to promote positive behavior, engagement, and social-emotional growth. Assist with implementation of behavior intervention strategies and support plans. Assist in implementing school-wide behavior expectations, restorative practices, and positive behavior support systems. Facilitate structured play, games, and student engagement activities during recess and other non-instructional periods.
