Administers leadership education, service learning, and community service program experiences, working closely with students, faculty, and staff to assemble, populate, and implement services. **Distinguishing Career Features** The Student Leadership Coordinator serves as a technical and procedural advisor as well as trainer and facilitator to enhance students' capabilities in student government, organizing and carrying out student activities, and to support outreach and prospective student recruitment. Advancement to this level requires that incumbents in this role will demonstrate skills in outreach, conducting in service training, and understand procedures for organizing and conducting business, elections, and events. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** Specific duties may vary among departments, divisions and jobs. Incumbents typically perform a substantial portion or all of the following types of duties, as assigned: 1. Plans, organizes, and facilitates activities and programs to develop skills in student leaders such as, but not limited to, ente1iainment, cultural events, ice breakers, team building, and experiences to practice learned skills. 2. Advises specific branches (i.e. Student Senate, Executive Board, Standing Committees, etc.) of the Associated Student Organization (ASO) on the process of identifying, planning, and implementing successful and well-attended educational, social, and cultural activities for students. Serves as an advisor at branch meetings of ASO as assigned and interprets college policies and standards as it relates to meetings, events, and activities. 3. Coordinates and advises on the processes required for student elections including identification of candidates, organization of balloting, marketing and promoting, counting, and verifying election results. 4. Coordinates and attends ASO and college-sponsored student activities and conferences both on- and off-campus locales. Arranges for travel to off-campus events and conferences.
