ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Mailroom is responsible for delivering and receiving mail and packages for the Campus community. We deliver and pick up for the student population and the University offices. Student items are taken to the UC Desk or Ibex lockers. Office items will be delivered to the departments. We organize Mailing and apply correct postage for all out going mailings at the University. We work with all of our Major carriers FedEx, UPS, Post office and Freight to track, unload and scan. We also take Items to and from the Post-office on a daily basis. We coordinate with our maintenance and Utility department to ensure large items are moved to area locations. POSITION SUMMARY, ROUTINE TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Depending on the Position that you are hired for you may be doing any of the following: - Pick up/drop off Mail from the Post office - Transport mail and packages to and from Departments and to the Student Desk - Load and pickup unclaimed packages to the IBEX - May exposed to bad weather - Driver License (preferred) - 21 years of age and complete an MPV (Preferred) - Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs (occasionally) - Registered full-time SSU student - Eligible to work in the United States - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and follow instructions - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms - Follow SSU dress code policy
