# GENERAL STATEMENT Coordinates the broadcast activities of the 22 West radio internet stream, and FM broadcasts, for live sports broadcasts. Monitors the broadcast in accordance with rules and regulations of Federal Communications Commission, by performing the following duties. # ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Coordinates with the Station Program Assistant for shift scheduling for Basketball and baseball broadcasts, maintains a copy of the schedule for reference, and is responsible for fulfilling the shifts assigned. 2. Coordinates with Production and Programming Depts. for all necessary programming, sponsor mentions and pre- and post-game additions to the basketball and baseball play-by-play broadcast. 3. Interprets readings and indicators on control console and determines operating adjustments required to obtain uniform audio sound level. 4. Maintains proper paper logging of station identification and non-commercial underwriting messages in accordance with rules and regulations of Federal Communications Commission. 5. Diagnoses causes of any program interruptions and takes appropriate steps to maintain operational status of the internet and HD programming streams during live sports broadcasts. 6. Is responsible for returning both stations to proper programming POST broadcast, has command of the required procedures to return to automated programming to the air. 7. Communicates any discrepancies with programming, underwriting, and equipment to the proper departments. All communication MUST be made in writing with date/time of incident(s) included. 8. Attends any live sports broadcast staff meetings. 9. Aid in other sports department needs, as they pertain to the broadcast of live or recorded sports presentations. 10. Other duties as assigned, reasonably within the scope of the job. # MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS **Education and/or Experience** One year of college; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous volunteer experience with 22 West Media preferred. Must be a current and active CSULB student enrolled in a minimum of 6 units. **Knowledge and Abilities** To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and the Google, Adobe and Microsoft Office suite of applications, especially audio editing software. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of students, customers or employees of organization. Individual must acquire proficiency in Station Playlist Pro and Adobe Audition software through participation in mandatory training and also complete training on FCC broadcast regulations regarding noncommercial radio. # OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Schedule This position is a temporary, one academic-year appointment aligned with the CSULB academic calendar. The work schedule generally follows standard business hours, with flexibility required during peak periods.
