So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.**About the job**As a Welder I, you will be responsible for laying out, fitting, tacking, and welding steel components and assemblies in accordance with blueprint specifications. Using a range of power tools and welding equipment, you’ll ensure precision, structural integrity, and a clean finish free of undercuts and weld spatter. Your work must meet strict dimensional and aesthetic standards, contributing directly to product quality and organizational success.This position is in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.As a part of the team, you will: - Interpret blueprints and follow instructions to execute weld procedures - Operate mig and/or tig welders, stick welding, grinders, plasma cutters, drill presses, and other tools - Familiar with welding carbon and aluminium steel - Assemble and weld parts with precision using clamps, bolts, and tack welds - Plan layouts and welding sequences for structural integrity and safety - Inspect and correct welds to meet quality standards - Use measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances - Perform routine maintenance and complete preventive checklists - Support material handling, loading/unloading, and workstation supply - Assist team leaders and train others as needed - Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout shift - Crosstrain across departments to expand skillset - Ability to use and operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, and electric - All employees are expected to prioritize safety, regardless of role. This includes strict adherence to company-wide safety policies and procedures, proactive promotion of safe practices, and addressing unsafe behaviors or conditions in a constructive and positive manner. - Employees expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, courtesy, and cooperation toward colleagues, customers, vendors, and visitors. - Full compliance with all Alfa Laval policies and procedures is required to maintain a respectful, safe, and productive work environment. **What you know:**You have High School diploma or GED, preferred, with relevant experience, and: - Minimum 1 year experience using mig or tig welding - Must pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), if PAPR is required - Manufacturing experience required; industry background preferred - Proficient in MIG welding and oxyacetylene torch use - Skilled in basic math and tape measure reading - Experienced with hand tools, drill/saw machinery, and overhead crane operation - Forklift certification preferred Physical & Environmental Factors:Physical Requirements (lifting, climbing, standing, equipment use): - Regularly exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally; 30 lbs of force frequently - Stand or walk for 80% of the workday - Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment. - Mobility & Posture: Standing, walking, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and balancing on varied surfaces - Manual Dexterity: Reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects using upper body strength - Fine Motor Skills: Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers for precision tasks - Communication: Clear verbal expressions and active listening to convey and receive detailed instructions - Sensory Abilities: Adequate hearing to distinguish sounds and spoken communication in a work environment Environmental Factors (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces, expos…
