The Stormwater Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing maintenance and repair of public facilities such as stormwater run-off and lake preservation for the City of Casselberry. The Stormwater Maintenance Worker works independently within established policies and procedures. 1. Provides maintenance and repair of the assigned public facilities. (95%) 1. Performs landscape maintenance surrounding City’s stormwater ponds, lakes and ditches. 2. Maintains shoreline and stormwater ponds, lakes and ditches; herbicide and mosquito application and removal of weeds. 3. Inspects and cleans stormwater lines and baffle boxes to remove pollutants and perform filter maintenance. 4. Repairs pipe(s) and inlet(s) along roadways. 5. Responds timely to requests and work orders. 6. Performs inspections in accordance with NPDES guidelines and conducts follow up with necessary repairs. 2. Additional Duties and Responsibilities (5%) 1. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the core values of the City, and consistent with City and Department policies. 2. Follows safe working practices and has a working knowledge of safety practices and procedures. 3. Performs general maintenance and cleaning of tools, materials, and work stations. 4. Assists the Streets division with projects. 5. Performs after-hours/on-call rotation to respond to emergency repairs. 6. Participates in department meetings, staff meetings and other related activities. 7. Adheres to laws, regulations and policies of the City and of the assigned Department. Follows instructions provided by Department Director or their designee. 8. Completes the identified required or assigned training timely and applies acquired knowledge and/or skills. 9. Maintains, preserves, retains and disposes of public records according to FS Chapter 119. 3. Emergency Management Role 1. Participates as a member of the City staff as required to take action in the event of an emergency. 2. Acts in the assigned role to support the City in disaster preparation and/or disaster recovery efforts as described in the City of Casselberry Emergency Management Plan, supervisor or designee. As a member of the Public Works & Utilities Department may be responsible for the coordination of the maintenance and/or clearing of roadways, the operability of City’s fleet and prevention or drainage of local or area-wide flooding. In addition, as a member of the Public Works & Utilities Department may be responsible for the maintaining and/or rapidly restoring the operability of the City’s water and sewer system. Employees will be required to perform other job related marginal duties as required.)To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 1. **Education and Training:** A High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred. 2. **Experience:** A minimum of one (1) year experience in construction, landscape or related field. A comparable combination of education and experience may be considered. 3. **Certificates, Licenses and/or Registrations Required:** Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s license is required. Florida Stormwater Association Certification Level I and Erosion and Sediment Control License are preferred and/or must be obtained within twelve (12) months of date of hire. A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check will be made to determine acceptance of past driving record. 4. **Security Clearance:** Florida Department of Law Enforcement background clearance is required. is preferred and/or ability to acquire within 12 months. 1. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** - Knowledge (basic level) of local, state and federal regulations affecting work. - Knowledge of the common tools, equipment, materials and methods used in p…
