Under the general supervision of the school site administrator or designee, the STEAM LAB Technician will work with classroom teachers to implement activities and lessons in a STEAM lab environment. The STEAM LAB Technician will collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement STEAM activities. Develop activities and STEAM lessons in a variety of grades. Provide coaching and partner with teachers to plan and implement STEAM activities and lesson Work with students on individual or small group projects. Provide expertise to teachers about projects they would like to offer. Actively co-create a culture that is committed to being at the leading edge of K-8 education. Further develop, build, and define the STEAM lab. Work to keep the lab organized and well-stocked. Develop safety and maintenance systems and guidelines for teachers and students in the STEAM lab and classroom. Develop a tracking system for lab materials. Create and maintain a culture of respect for the lab and tools. Seek and attend professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge of STEAM and best instructional practices. Plan and organize field trips, STEAM fairs, and campus parent opportunities. Perform preventive maintenance duties according to established procedures; replace parts; clean, lubricate, align and adjust equipment. Maintain routine records of work orders, requisitions and inventory as assigned; order and obtain parts and supplies as needed. Work from sketches, plans, drawings, blueprints and specifications. Assure compliance with federal, State and local codes and appropriate safety procedure. Operate a District vehicle to conduct work. Perform related duties as assigned. Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by specialized training in electronic equipment repair and two years’ experience working in a school setting with students. Valid California Class C driver's license.
