Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience with C++, Large Scale Distributed Systems, and Technical Infrastructure. Experience in distributed databases. Preferred qualifications: Experience in C++ and storage systems. Woodshed is Google's AI/ML Storage system. It provides high-throughput, exabyte-scale foundation for all ML workloads at Google. The goal is to accelerate ML training and inferences, and simplify ML data management for all Google products. Woodshed is recommended as the standard ML training system for Gemini Pre-Training and traditional ML training. It empowers most of the flagship ML workloads at Google (e.g., Ads, Search, YouTube, Shopping, Gemini, Waymo, Nano Banana, Veo, Workspace, and more).The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer.
