About Storable At Storable, we're redefining property management for specialty real estate. Powered by AI and three decades of industry data, Storable empowers over 33,000 self-storage facilities with the industry's only fully integrated technology platform. Our end-to-end solutions—from management software and demand generation to CRM tools and delinquency solutions—help storage operators streamline workflows, attract tenants, and grow revenue. Dedicated to empowering self-storage owners and operators, Storable helps you Win More every day. Explore our platform solutions at storable.com . Overview Thousands of self-storage operators rely on Storable's CRM platform every day to win and keep customers — capturing leads, handling inbound and outbound calls, sending SMS and email, managing collections, and syncing tenant, unit, and reservation data with their Facility Management Systems (FMS). Our goal is for CRM to be the communication engine operators trust, so they can focus on their customers instead of their software. We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to shape the next chapter of the CRM platform — a large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS application at the center of how operators communicate with their customers. It's at an inflection point: the near-term mission is to stabilize and scale it — improving reliability, data-sync correctness, and performance across high-throughput, integration-heavy workflows — while laying the groundwork for an event-driven, microservice-based architecture aligned with Storable's enterprise standards and the Architecture platform. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll spend roughly 40–50% of your time in the codebase; the rest goes to architecture, technical strategy, mentoring, and cross-team alignment. Your impact reaches beyond the problems you solve to the engineers you help solve harder ones. We're transforming our engineering organization through AI-assisted development, and you'll help define how AI fits into our delivery lifecycle, workflows, and platform evolution. We believe great ideas come from diverse perspectives and inclusive teams. We encourage people of all backgrounds, genders, and experiences to apply, even if you don't meet every qualification listed below. What you'll do every day Take on the largest, most ambiguous problems spanning the CRM domain and adjacent teams, decomposing multi-team initiatives into clear, well-sequenced workstreams that can be delivered safely and predictably. Own the technical strategy and architecture for CRM initiatives that span multiple teams, making pragmatic, business-aware tradeoffs across cost, scalability, performance, reliability, and delivery, and grounding decisions in data. Act as a directly responsible owner for reliability and correctness in high-risk areas (for example, communications, collections, data sync, billing, async jobs) — driving incidents to root-cause fixes and raising the bar for production ownership across teams. Proactively identify high-value work and drive large, cross-team initiatives from design through delivery — managing dependencies and risk, and unblocking the teams around you. Raise release, deployment, and engineering-process standards that other teams adopt (for example, canary/blue-green deployments, environment management, and safer delivery workflows). Write high-leverage, production-ready code across our stack (Angular, Node.js/TypeScript, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, AWS, Phalcon/PHP), setting the standard for how the hardest scalability, performance, and reliability problems get diagnosed and solved. Design end-to-end observability for CRM and its integration services — metrics, logs, and traces (for example, Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch, or equivalents) with meaningful dashboards, alerts, SLOs, and runbooks. Evaluate and operationalize AI-assisted development (for example, multi-agent workflows for implementation, test generation, refactoring, or incident analysis) that measurabl…
