What this role tends to look like: - Setting technical direction across a domain or set of teams, not just a single codebase - Diving into the hardest, most ambiguous problems and driving them to a clean solution - Raising the bar on engineering practices — architecture, code quality, testing, operational rigor - Mentoring senior engineers and helping them grow into the next stage of their careers - Partnering closely with product and engineering leadership to shape roadmaps and technical strategy - Writing code when it matters, and knowing when not to What we look for: - A track record of technical leadership at scale, ideally with Staff/Principal-level experience (or Senior engineers clearly operating at that level) - Strong systems thinking — you can zoom out to architecture and zoom into a gnarly bug with equal ease - Excellent communication; you can influence without relying on authority - A bias toward pragmatic solutions over perfect ones - Genuine curiosity and a track record of continuous learning WHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING AT NEXUS At Nexus, we value people who want to grow — and support each other while doing so.
