## Overview If you have not already done so, please [CLICK HERE](https://surveys.cultureindex.com/s/reEDjZRugQ/67770) To complete a Culture Index Survey ## Description Job Title: Staff Accountant Reports to: Chief Financial Officer **Summary** This position maintains and controls the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the company while applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records. **Key Responsibilities** - Assist the Controller with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department. - Review the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with finance policies and procedures. - Responsible for reviewing and approving all expense reports in the Concur system. - Record asset transactions, costs and repairs. - Perform the processing of monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, as necessary. - Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations including fixed assets, accruals and prepaid expenses. - Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance and interim financial reporting. - Codes/approves invoices, sets up new accounts, and closes the monthly books. - Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures. - Perform other related duties as assigned. - Coordinates with banks on securing financing for equipment purchases. **Qualifications** - Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Able to demonstrate attention to details and good record-keeping. - Hands-on detail-oriented tasks. - Team player and can collaborate with other teams in the company. - High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. - Demonstrate a proficient level of professional skill and/or knowledge in accounting and keep current with developments and trends. - Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management - Must possess basic to intermediate knowledge of the following software applications: Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe. Must be willing to learn the following software as needed: Bluebeam, Adobe, Viewpoint, FAME, SAP, etc. **Physical Requirements** - Must be able to move around the office, retrieve files, and operate office equipment. - Must be able to work full-time in an office environment, using a computer to perform most work responsibilities. - Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, in the English language. ## Requirements At 5840 Holdings, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
