HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check. **Position overview:** We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical “Staff Accountant” to support our finance department. The position is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting financial operations of the College. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of accounting principles and computer applications. In addition, the candidate will also have strong communication skills and the ability to collect and analyze data. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university (OR) Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of data collection and analysis in a computerized environment. Higher education and Banner software experience preferred. **Nature and Scope of Duties:** The Staff Accountant reports to the Comptroller and or their designee performs the following duties: 1. Assists with preparation, review and analysis of statistical and financial reports for internal (College) or external (Federal, State, etc.) distribution/submission. 2. Responsible for preparing data for the Actuary. 3. Coordinates the collection of data from other departments in preparation for the College’s independent audit. 4. Assists with the collection and processing of Certificate of Residency (COR) forms. 5. Leads the annual Cost of Curriculum Study Report. 6. Assists with processing non-tuition billing. 7. Assists with accounts receivables and follows up on outstanding balances; and turns- over delinquent accounts to collection agency. 8. Responsible for collateral reconciliations. 9. Assists Cashier/Bursar’s Office with responding to student inquiries during peak times and as needed. 10. Assists with bank reconciliations, as needed. 11. Assists with annual calculations for auditors to include vacation accrual and termination benefits. 12. Assists Comptroller in working with the College’s independent auditors to reconcile the annual financial statements to the College’s financial reports. 13. Performs other duties assigned. This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $50,000-$55,000.
