Staff Accountant

**Purpose:** This full-time 35-hour/week position will be responsible for performing assigned general and specific accounting duties professionally and confidentially, and with a high degree of personal integrity. **** **Essential Job Functions:** 1. Maintain the general ledger, including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. 2. Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). 3. Reconcile various bank accounts. 4. Monitor and track activity related to the Housing Choice Voucher Program. 5. Maintain fixed asset ledgers by program area, ensuring compliance with GAAP. 6. Receive, organize, verify, approve, and code vendor payments in accordance with ACHA procedures. 7. Monitor vendor contracts and ensure proper payment tracking. 8. Perform financial close-out procedures for vacated tenants and support tenant-related legal follow-up, as appropriate. 9. Assist with year-end closing processes and annual audit preparation. 10.
