Forsgren, an Apex Company is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join our growing Boise, Idaho office. This position offers the opportunity to lead the planning, design, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects for both public and private sector clients throughout Idaho and the surrounding region. As a technical lead, you will be responsible for supporting projects through all phases of design and construction while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including transportation, water resources, environmental, geotechnical, survey, and structural professionals. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical design experience, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects while mentoring junior engineers. Projects may include commercial and industrial site development, municipal infrastructure, roadway improvements, utility systems, grading and drainage, stormwater management, and other civil engineering improvements. Primary Job Responsibilities Serve as the lead civil engineer for a variety of site development and civil infrastructure projects from planning through final design and construction support. Prepare, review, and oversee engineering calculations, technical reports, construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documentation. Design and coordinate grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility systems, roadway improvements, and site development infrastructure in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal design standards. Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support stormwater management, detention systems, conveyance facilities, and erosion control design. Develop construction documents utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and associated design software. Coordinate project deliverables with survey, environmental, geotechnical, structural, transportation, and water resources teams. Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and technical quality while ensuring successful project delivery and client satisfaction. Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of engineering plans, calculations, and technical documents. Support permitting efforts through coordination with local municipalities, regulatory agencies, and utility providers. Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), review submittals, and provide engineering support during construction. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff.
