Sr. Architect, Data & AI Architecture

Role Overview The Senior Architect, Data & AI Architecture is responsible for defining and driving AvidXchange's enterprise data and AI architecture strategy. This role partners across Product, Engineering, Data, Analytics, and AI teams to build scalable data platforms, AI-ready foundations, enterprise knowledge models, and intelligent information architectures that accelerate business growth, innovation, and operational excellence. The position plays a critical role in shaping how data, analytics, and AI capabilities are leveraged across the organization to deliver business value and support future AI-driven products and experiences. What you'll do Define and evolve enterprise data and AI architecture strategy, roadmaps, standards, and reference architectures Lead architecture for enterprise data platforms, analytics ecosystems, customer intelligence capabilities, and AI-enabled solutions Establish semantic data models, enterprise ontologies, metadata standards, and knowledge architectures that create a consistent business understanding across systems and domains Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Analytics teams to deliver AI-ready data foundations that support machine learning, generative AI, intelligent automation, and advanced analytics Drive architecture governance, data quality, security, scalability, and compliance across enterprise data and AI platforms Evaluate emerging technologies and provide technical leadership for strategic investments in data, analytics, knowledge management, and AI capabilities What we're looking for Deep experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data architectures, cloud data platforms, and analytics ecosystems Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, data science platforms, knowledge management, semantic technologies, and modern data architecture patterns Experience developing enterprise data models, semantic layers, ontologies, metadata frameworks, and governance practices Ability to influence senior technology and business leaders while aligning architecture strategy to organizational goals and business outcomes Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives across Product, Engineering, Data, Analytics, and business teams Strong communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value About AvidXchange AvidXchange is a leading provider of accounts payable (“AP”) automation software and payment solutions for middle-market businesses and their suppliers.
