## Overview **WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** - Work indoors and outdoors; - Ability to stand, walk, run, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and lift up to forty pounds occasionally; - Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time in direct and indirect sunlight; - This job requires prolonged exposure to hot weather conditions, and appropriate measures should be taken to protect yourself from heat-related illnesses; - This is safety-sensitive due to cleaning chemicals, biohazard(s), open wounds, and hot weather conditions; - Demonstrate patience and flexibility in changing job demands and when interacting with employees, visitors, and the public; - Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. This includes monitoring the pool, slide, or water attractions, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies. Lifeguards should have strong swimming skills and be able to rescue and perform first aid in the event of an emergency. They should also have a strong understanding of water safety and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with guests. In addition to these duties, the lifeguard is responsible for setting up the waterpark in the morning and closing it down in the evening. A normal shift is 4 ½ hours but can be a full day (9-10 hours).
