Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – K-5 JobID: 5670 Position Type: Student Support Services/Speech Pathologist Date Posted: 7/16/2026 Location: Lancaster Elementary School Date Available: 08/27/2026 Closing Date: Internal Closing 7/21/26 Additional Information: Show/Hide Job Details Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) � K-5 Job Summary Salem School District is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our K-5 elementary team. This position is responsible for identifying, assessing, and treating students with communication disorders, including impairments in language, speech sound production, fluency, and voice. Distinguishing Feature: You will join a robust, high-functioning team of district SLPs, providing ample opportunities for professional growth, peer consultation, and shared resources. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Direct Clinical Services: Provide high-quality individual and small-group therapy to students with diverse needs, ensuring services align with IEP goals and objectives. Comprehensive Evaluations: Conduct initial and triennial speech and language evaluations, including standardized testing and informal observations, to determine eligibility and instructional needs. AAC Implementation: Support students with complex communication needs through the selection, programming, and implementation of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. Multidisciplinary Consultation: Collaborate consistently with General Education teachers, Special Education teachers, and Related Services providers to ensure communication strategies are generalized across all school environments. Intervention Support: Participate in the MTSS process by providing pre-referral consultation and short-term interventions for students struggling with foundational communication. Team Collaboration: Actively engage with the district-wide SLP cohort to standardize practices, share clinical insights, and support peer-led professional development. Compliance: Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including session notes, progress reports, and Medicaid billing (if applicable). Required Qualifications & Credentials To practice in New Hampshire, candidates must meet the following Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC) and NHDOE requirements: Certification/Licensure: Must hold (or be eligible for) a valid New Hampshire License in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the OPLC. NHDOE Endorsement: Must hold (or be eligible for) NHDOE Endorsement #0082 (Speech-Language Specialist). Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Collaboration: A "team-player" mindset with the ability to navigate a large, multi-disciplinary department effectively. Communication: Exceptional ability to explain clinical findings to parents and staff in an accessible, empathetic manner.
