Speech- Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) JobID: 673 Position Type: Student Support Services/Speech and Language Pathologist Date Posted: 6/18/2026 Location: District Wide Position Additional Information: Show/Hide Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) RSU 3 is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our student-centered special education team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in achieving their communication goals through individual and small-group therapy services. Responsibilities Include: Provide speech and language therapy services to students as directed by a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist. Implement therapy activities and interventions outlined in student treatment plans and IEPs. Deliver individual and small-group therapy sessions. Collect and document data regarding student performance and progress. Assist in preparing therapy materials and maintaining therapy resources. Support students in developing speech, language, social communication, and functional communication skills. Collaborate with teachers, educational technicians, special education staff, and related service providers. Participate in team meetings and professional consultations as appropriate. Maintain strict confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with state and federal regulations. Assist with screenings, observations, and other activities as directed by the supervising SLP. Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related field. Current Maine certification/licensure requirements for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants, or ability to obtain required credentials. Experience working with children and/or students with diverse learning and communication needs preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
