Open to flexibility. • In depth understanding of specialty pharmacy services and can articulate to staff to ensure pharmacy processes are followed appropriately. • Thoroughly understands the AdventHealth prescription plan and has good working knowledge of other prescription plans and communicates with staff, patients, and providers regarding eligibility, formulary, copays, and prior authorizations. • Supports departmental and organizational mission through appropriate use of resources, aiding team members and management, accepting work or scheduled assignments, and acts as a role model to the team to provide suggestions and creative ideas for performance improvement. • Monitors specialty team queues daily to ensure timely prescription processing. Maintains current awareness of current turnaround time and adjusts resources as needed. • Serves as a point of escalation for calls requiring a higher degree of expertise or discretion to resolve customer issues and ensures timely resolution. Communicate with department manager regarding any areas of concern for future service. • Works with pharmacy purchasing team with constant communication to receive needed medications and maintain an accurate inventory. Maintains a working knowledge of fulfillment and shipping processes as they relate to specialty medications. • Refers limited distribution pharmacy items to the proper contracted specialty pharmacy and works with specialty pharmacy manager to ensure smooth processing of prescriptions. • Communicates with manager regarding work priorities and provides feedback regarding requests, projects, and assignments as appropriate. • Conducts monthly one on ones with direct reports, reviews overall staff accountabilities and performance. Works with department leaders to lead out on team huddles as needed. • Participate in the recruitment process for pharmacy technicians. • Develops, facilitates, and monitors training of new department staff and plays an active role in maintaining competency of staff. • Provides feedback for introductory and annual evaluations of all new hires/transfers into the specialty department and assists with corrective action and coaching as necessary. • Maintains accountabilities for department staff, ensuring compliance with Rx Plus/Expedien and AdventHealth policies. Actively communicates standards with staff and completes audits as necessary. • Works within registered pharmacy technician scope of practice. • Performs all other duties as assigned. **oKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** • Must be able to multitask and be flexible in moving from task to task within the department while maintaining composure and staying organized.
