Transcripts outside of the United States, must be accompanied by an evaluation completed by a NACES recognized agency and received by Human Resources at least two weeks prior to the first day of work. Annual Schedule: 12 months Expected Work Schedule: Standard Anticipated Days: Monday - Friday Anticipated Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Anticipated Hours per Week: 40 Work Location: A-B Tech Main Campus Job Description Summary: The primary purpose of this position is oversight of the Asheville- Buncombe- Madison (ABM) Works high school pre-apprentices, and act as the liaison between the educational, economic, and business/industry partnership for Asheville-Buncombe-Madison Works. The Workforce Development Specialist (WDS) will work with business and industry to determine employment needs and coordinate efforts to place student pre-apprentices in work-based learning experiences such as internships and apprenticeships. Duties: 1. Facilitates and coordinates business/industry/education meetings, overseeing recruitment and retention (both of students and business partners). 2. Develops relationships with students and families to guide students to success. 3. Coordinates and oversees support services. 4. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement. 5. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects. 6. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements (Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements): 1. Must have a minimum of an Associate degree. 2. Must have one year of full-time or equivalent educational administrative or other relevant leadership experience. 3. Must have experience working in a school system.
