Special Services Consultant – Alternative Curriculum, Low-Incidence Programs, and Instructional Coaching JobID: 13044 Position Type: CERTIFIED/INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT Date Posted: 6/17/2026 Location: SPECIAL SERVICES Additional Information: Show/Hide Richland County School District One, South Carolina Classification Description Classification Title: Instructional Coach FLSA: Exempt 240 days Salary Range: $78,421.25 - $111,937.50 General Statement of Job Under limited supervision, assists with directing and managing the Staff Development Center. Coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of district and school-level staff development programs for certified and classified personnel. Assists in designing and establishing staff development programs. Prepares training materials and presents training programs on a variety of topics. Reports to the Director Instructional Services. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions: Assists in the daily operations' of the Instructional Services department. Supervisory duties include instructing, reviewing and planning work, coordinating activities, maintaining standards, training new employees; acting on employee problems, and recommending the appropriate and necessary actions; reviews the performance of staff development contact persons for completeness and accuracy, offers advice and assistance as appropriate. Assists in coordinating the development, implementation and evaluation of effective district and school-level professional development programs on a variety of topics for employees. Assists in overseeing the annual process through which schools and programs complete professional development planning, including the review, evaluation and approval of these plans. Develops appropriate training materials and staff development schedules for distribution; schedules staff development activities and oversees the maintenance of teacher participation records; assists in the development of programs and activities designed to build and refine leadership skills among District administration, management and other personnel. Receives and responds to inquiries and requests for assistance from teachers, principals and District personnel. Keeps abreast of development innovations in the profession and ensures that staff members remain current and properly trained as well. Assist in planning, scheduling and presents programs on various leadership and development topics to groups. Delivers special training programs and workshops as necessary, and facilitates various meetings. Assist in planning conferences and workshops, including programming and logistics. Receives, reviews, prepares and/or submits various records and reports including budget documents, research documents, professional studies, personnel records, policies and procedures, purchase requisitions, invoices, evaluation records, various reports, attendance reports, training schedules and materials, newsletters, proposals, memos, correspondence, etc. Complies with all federal laws, state statutes, Board policies, administrative rules, and directives. Additional Duties: Attends workshops, conferences and classes as appropriate. Performs duties as necessary to serve the staff development needs of all certified personnel. Performs related duties as required. Minimum Education and Training Requires a Master's degree in education with a concentration in curriculum and instruction, supplemented by four years of staff development and classroom teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Minimum Qualifications and Standards Required Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment, including a computer, telephone, audio-visual equipment, and vehicle.
