The South Carolina Office of Resilience is seeking a hardworking and dependable candidate just like you to apply!** **This will be a temporary, six (6) months position.** The Special Project Coordinator provides advanced evaluation, analysis, direction, and planning services in a broad functional area of the agency and serves as a senior level resource to agency leadership. Is responsible for evaluating organizational structure, training, internal operations, and administrative management of the disaster case management program. This senior-level role is critical in supporting the Chief Resilience Officer, the Executive Staff, and the DCM Department Director by ensuring effective internal coordination, managing internal resources, compliance, and the strategic implementation of operational program policies. The Special Project Coordinator directly contributes to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the disaster case management efforts, enabling disaster case management personnel to provide optimal support to individuals and communities affected by disasters. The job duties include but are not limited to the following: - Performs research to understand the purpose, mission, and goals of the disaster case management (DCM) department and programs. - Conducts analysis of the DCM program mission, operations, roles, processes, and procedures to look for opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity. Conducts focused analysis of the Income Verification and Housing Eligibility processes. - Conducts analysis of interdepartmental workflow and organizational designs. - Summarizes analysis and findings to make specific recommendations to the Chief Resilience Officer and Executive Staff on the internal operational processes of the Disaster Case Management program, ensuring alignment with the agency and division's strategic objectives and goals. - Conducts analysis on and make recommendations to Disaster Recovery Reserve Corps (DRRC) and DCM training. - Conduct analysis on and develop recommendations to improve internal policies and procedures related to disaster case management operations. - Ensure changes to internal DCM policies, procedures and operations are clearly communicated and adhered to by all department and program personnel. - Ensures internal program compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including FEMA guidelines, grant requirements, and organizational policies. - Conducts research on critical, confidential, and often highly sensitive matters which may result in recommendations for statutory or policy modifications. - Coordinates internally between disaster case managers, administrative support staff, and program management, ensuring clear communication, defined roles, and smooth operational workflows. - Provides strategic input and support to the DCM Department and DCM Program Directors; assisting with internal strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making processes. - Monitors internal performance metrics, prepares comprehensive internal reports, and provides analysis to the DCM Department Director, Chief Resilience Officer and Executive Staff of ongoing program execution. - Maintains clear and consistent internal communications. - Provides regular progress reports and recommendations to the Chief Resilience Officer, Executive Staff, and the DCM Department Director. - A bachelor's degree and relevant experience related to evaluating organizational effectiveness and making recommendations to improve processes and procedures to maximize productivity. - Professional experience in analyzing organizational structures, their effectiveness, and providing recommendations to improve operations. - Professional experience in evaluating the effectiveness of training.
