Teaching responsibilities include implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP), classroom management, participation in annual meetings, and completion of required reports. Extensive training and support are provided with opportunities for professional growth and development. **Responsibilities** - Conduct formal and informal assessments of educational programs and behavior interventions. - Participate in the training of related service providers. - Supervise Teaching Assistants/Aides and participate in the implementation of educational programs and behavior interventions. - Monitor Teacher’s Assistants/ Aides to ensure consistency of instruction, and ongoing training needs. - Train Teacher’s Assistants/Aides how to use the instructional approach and/or program that they are expected to implement. This may include modeling the specific strategies that will be used and providing feedback on the procedures implemented. - Provide specific feedback to Teacher’s Assistants/Aides on the latter’s use of the strategies that have been modeled for him or her. - Implement and adhere to IFSP/IEP/Student Program. - Prepare for and attend all pertinent pre IEP and IEP conferences. - Administer curriculum-based and standardized assessments. - Differentiate learning based on the needs of individual students and IEP goals. - Apply data collection and behavior management interventions and reinforcement procedures in accordance with each child’s behavior management plan and program policy. - Meet with parents to discuss student progress. - Attend and participate in staff meetings and staff development/in-services if requested. - Ensure completion of program/student documentation. - Complete and maintain training requirements. - Complete required program documentation/certifications (e.g. Employee Medicals, PPD, CPR, etc. as required). **Qualifications & Work Experience** - NYS Certified Special Education Teacher (Internship Certificate a minimum) - 3 letters of recommendation required upon hire - Experience with ASD and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies preferred **Mission** QSAC is a New York City and Long Island based nonprofit that supports children and adults with autism, together with their families, in achieving greater independence, realizing their future potential, and contributing to their communities in a meaningful way by offering person-centered services.
