The ideal candidate will foster a positive, supportive learning environment, utilize differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs. The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction and support to students participating in the Alabama Alternate Achievement Standards curriculum. If you are ready to make a profound, lasting difference in deaf education, you belong on our team. **BASIC QUALIFICATIONS** - Bachelor’s degree in Special Education - Must hold a valid Alabama Teaching Certificate or valid certification in another state with ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months of hire date. - Must meet suitability/background requirements for employment . **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** - Master’s Degree in Special Education - One (1) year or more of classroom experience working with students with sensory loss **POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:** **Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties** - Instructional Excellence: Provide comprehensive, multi-subject elementary instruction. Develop, submit, and implement creative lesson plans, course overviews, and substitute teacher plans aligned with school curriculum and state standards. - Differentiated Learning: Utilize differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs, continually evaluating, reporting, and modifying instruction based on student progress. - IEP Management: Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each assigned student.
