**Special Education Teacher** *Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (BROD) is a newly authorized Type 2 Charter that is part of the Discovery Schools Charter Management Organization. We are excited to bring Discovery education to the Baton Rouge area through our second corporate partnership with Ochsner Health. The school opened in August for the 2023-24 school year, starting with grades PreK4 - 4th and will eventually educate students in grades PreK - 8th at full capacity.* Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy seeks Bachelor’s or Master’s degree teacher certified in Special Education. 3+ years’ experience with special education students in a school setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of Special Education instructional strategies such as differentiated instruction, modification of curriculum and assessments, and implementation of student accommodations. Experience with IEP development and implementation is essential. Knowledge of RTI, BIP, and current legal policy in regard to SPED is required. Familiarity with state/district compliance and uploading IEPs to the SER website is an asset. Ability to collaborate with various teachers, parents, and school leaders to be a strong advocate for students is needed. Knowledge of State testing and Louisiana State Standards preferred. Certification or interest in achieving certification in multiple areas a plus. Workshops and training during the summer of 2026 may be required. Position available August 2026.
