In this role, you will have the chance to use your skills and experience to provide individualized support and help our students achieve their full potential. **Special Education Teacher Responsibilities & Duties** - Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student - Provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs - Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary - Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and parents to ensure student success - Implement positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS) and other behavior management strategies - Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment - Be able to interpret and explain student data and progress monitoring - Experience using technology and multimedia resources in the classroom - Stay current on best practices and developments in special education **Special Education Teacher Qualifications & Skills** - Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field - Valid state certification or license as a Special Education Teacher - Strong knowledge of individualized education plans and behavior management strategies - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues *BakerRipley is an equal opportunity employer/program.
