Software Engineering Manager, Google Global Infrastructure

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience programming in C++. 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role. 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role. Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 5 years of experience working in a global organization. Experience managing a team of software engineers. Experience with performance optimization of software systems, and debugging distributed software systems. Experience designing and implementing large-scale, real-time software systems, and with software-defined networking. Provide technical guidance to the team as they design, develop, integrate and test the features for B4 availability and NPI. Prioritize work and ensure that incremental progress is made even if the problems are difficult to solve. Help team members and partner teams understand the broader context, and solve the problems at the time. Be comfortable with changes in the execution plan if they are enabling the right impact for Google.
