Job Title: Software Engineer II Location: 50 West San Fernando Street, Suite 1800, San Jose, CA 95113 *Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from The Trade Desk, Inc. office in San Jose, CA. Job Duties: Design system architectures and application components for internal web applications and services, including front-end and backend structures, API contracts, and database models; ensure designs align with scalability, security, and compliance requirements. Implement and maintain internal web applications and services using languages such as C#, TypeScript, and React, and frameworks such as .NET; develop REST/GraphQL APIs, database schemas (SQL), and service integrations following secure coding and data governance practices. Build and operate CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes for microservices and web applications, and monitor releases and resolve deployment issues. Develop and maintain automated tests, including unit, integration, and end-to-end test suites, ensure test coverage and reliability through continuous integration and participate in code reviews to uphold quality standards. Analyze operational and product data (e.g., usage, performance, error metrics) to assess the effectiveness of process improvements and automation initiatives, use insights to validate outcomes and inform future engineering priorities, and communicate findings to stakeholders. Collaborate directly with product and business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate ambiguous needs into technical designs, and deliver incremental, production-ready features. Own the full lifecycle of features and small projects, including design, implementation, documentation, rollout, monitoring, and iterative improvement based on user feedback. Build AI-assisted tools and automation in Python that use Large Language Models and Retrieval Augemented Generation to streamline routine tasks, improve employee productivity, and enhance internal tooling. Salary: $226,138 - $227,000 /year Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related role OR Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Must have two (2) years of coding experience in modern languages. Must have two (2) years of experience with full-stack software engineering. Must have two (2) years of technical communication experience, including writing design documents and system documentation, providing feedback to other engineers’ documents and code, and giving project updates to stakeholders or project leaders.
