As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for: - Creating new features, or enhance existing functionality, from design through testing and deployment - Working in an agile sprint environment to deliver quality software on a regular and consistent basis - Measuring, maintaining and optimizing distributed system performance and performing bug fixes of existing applications - Working in diverse nature of programming languages as needed **Do what you love** To be successful in this role you will: - Have 2+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field - Have demonstrated experience in developing applications, including API based Apps in Golang - Understand fundamentals of Python along with container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes. - Gain experience with Clickhouse, Redis, MongoDB, Postgres, Grafana, as familiarity with these tools can enhance your skill set. - Demonstrate expertise in IP/TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, and related network protocols. - Be passionate about solving large scale, secure distributed systems problems using Data Structures and complex Algorithms **About us** At Akamai, we make life better for billions of people, trillions of times a day.
