Social Work Intern, 2-1-1

**Social Work Intern, 2-1-1 (Summer/Fall or Spring/Winter - Unpaid)** **PURPOSE OF POSITION:** To assist individuals seeking services through 2-1-1 in navigating available community resources. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:** Community Resource Navigation: Receives and responds to incoming 2-1-1 calls, individuals, families, and community organizations seeking assistance. Collects basic data on the caller, provides appropriate referrals to available services, and documents all demographic information, unmet needs, and referrals provided. Completes screening and appointment scheduling as appropriate. **QUALIFICATIONS:** - Knowledge of human services field preferred - Experience and interest in providing excellent customer service required. - Ability to navigate between and utilize a variety of computer applications simultaneously. - Flexible and adaptable to organization scheduling requirements. - Competent in MS Office products. - Commitment to excellence and passion for the mission of United Way of Summit & Medina. **COMPETENCIES & SOFT SKILLS:** - Initiative - Relationship-Oriented - Teamwork and Collaboration - Mission-Focused - Professionalism - Change Management - Performance Improvement **OTHER REQUIREMENTS:** - Ability to pass pre-employment testing including background check, drug, and alcohol screen. - Valid driver license and proof of insurance.
