## Description **POSITION SUMMARY:** The *Fall Semester* Social Media Internship at the Ozarks Regional YMCA offers students a hands-on, guided experience in digital storytelling and community engagement. This educational opportunity is designed to introduce students to content strategy, platform management, and inclusive digital communication in a mission-driven environment. We are a place where you can belong and become. **We are genuine:** we value you and embrace your individuality. **We are hopeful:** we believe in you and your potential to become a catalyst in the world. **We are nurturing:** we support you in your journey to develop your full potential. **We are determined:** above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger, beginning with you. **LEARNING OBJECTIVES:** By the end of the internship, participants will: · Understand social media best practices in a nonprofit setting. · Gain experience drafting, publishing, and analyzing content across digital platforms. · Learn to tell community-centered stories that align with the YMCA’s brand and values. · Build and evaluate social media campaigns for real-world audiences. **EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE:** · Guided practice in content creation (graphics, video, captions) aligned with the Y brand guidelines. · Observing the publishing calendar and learning social media management tools. · Reviewing analytics to understand engagement trends and audience behavior. · Participating in storytelling efforts featuring members, volunteers, and staff. ## Requirements **QUALIFICATIONS:** 1. Current full-time student pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field. 2. Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) 3. Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills. 4. Basic graphic design skills (Canva or Adobe Spark) 5. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office. 6. Passion for the marketing industry and best practices **WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
