Sanmina Corporation has facilities strategically located in key regions throughout the world. **SMT OPERATOR** **Job Purpose:** This position is responsible for the operation of automated Surface Mount Equipment (SMT). **Job Duties:** - Sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic SMT machines used in the production of the company's product. - Works from specific drawings, procedures and process documentation to perform production tasks. - Pays attention to process controls and process inputs as required to monitor product quality, including Statistical Process Control, process improvements and line optimization as they relate to the SMT process. - Conducts product inspection according to specific procedures. - Uses PC-based software tools for setups, maintains component and machine specific databases as new devices and shape codes are introduced. - Interfaces with Engineering and other support groups with regard to line problems and process improvements. - Follows all Company Safety and ESD Program requirements. Responsible to report all accidents, near misses, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. - Properly handles and disposes all waste, including hazardous wastes that are generated in daily operations as directed by applicable SOP(s). - Other duties as assigned. **Education and Experience:** - High School or equivalent - 1-2 years equivalent experience - SMT Operator experience preferred - Knowledge of PCB handling, ESD practices, and IPC-610 standards **Physical Demands** Required to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment; talk and hear in person; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
