## Overview Position Summary: Responsible for assisting with other craft workers in physical labor on jobsites while maintaining a clean, safe and efficient construction site and supporting the overall project. ## Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: - Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures - Complete all required Safety documentation - Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery to load, offload, push and pull - Level earth to fine grade specifications using shovel or other hand tool - Mix concrete or grout using portable mixer - Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete using float, trowel or screed - Position, join, align and connect pumps, motors and other mechanical or metal parts - Mop, brush or spread paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protection - Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint or stucco through hose to clean, coat or seal surfaces - Apply caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices - Grind, sand or polish surfaces such as concrete and steel, using abrasive tools or machines - Perform tasks involving use of hands and tools such as torqueing/tensioning bolts and studs, assembling metal parts, building bolt cages, vibrating concrete, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing forms from concrete, and demolitions, cleanup, use of jackhammers, etc. - Provide assistance on the site as needed - Perform care and maintenance of assigned tools - Perform physical labor on construction sites - May be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice - Other duties as assigned ## Qualifications ## Requirements Education and Work Experience Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and six to twelve months of related experience in construction - Or equivalent combination of training and experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: - Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek’s Zero Injury principles - Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals - Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to perform these operations using units, weight measurement and volume - Ability to understand units of force, pressure and torque and apply appropriate tooling adjustments for each - Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form - Be able to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards Working Environment: - Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions - Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat - Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration - Noise level in the work environment is usually loud Financial Wellbeing - **Compensation:** **$25.00-$27.00/** **hourly, commensurate with experience** - Competitive pay with ongoing performance review and merit increase - 401(k) with company match & Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) - Flexible spending account (Healthcare & Dependent care) Health & Wellness - Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (plan choice) - coverage for spouse, domestic partner, and children - Diabetes Management, Telehealth Coverage, Prescription Drug Plan MasTec, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
