America’s roads and work zone professionals need and deserve AWP Safety protection. ## Job Description We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Sign Installer. The ideal candidate will possess technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. A strong commitment to safety and the ability to collaborate with coworkers and supervisors are essential to success in this role. **Responsibilities:** - Install NCDOT Type D, E, and F permanent roadside signs according to project plans and specifications. - Install temporary construction signs using square tubing, portable sign stands, and other approved mounting systems. - Read construction plans, sign schedules, and traffic control plans. - Measure, locate, and mark sign locations accurately. - Set posts in concrete or driven foundations as required. - Assemble sign panels, brackets, and mounting hardware. - Verify proper sign height, offset, orientation, and spacing to meet NCDOT standards. - Load, unload, and transport materials safely. - Operate company trucks, trailers, and light construction equipment. - Perform daily inspections of vehicles, tools, and equipment. - Maintain a clean and organized worksite. - Follow all OSHA, MUTCD, and NCDOT safety requirements. - Work safely around live traffic while utilizing proper traffic control procedures. - Complete work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. - Communicate effectively with supervisors, inspectors, and project managers. ## Qualifications - Construction experience - Traffic control experience - Sign installation experience - Ability to read tape measures and construction plans - **Valid driver’s license** - Ability to lift 75+ pounds repeatedly - Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions **Work Environment** - Regular exposure to outdoor elements, including varying temperatures, humidity, and weather conditions. ## Additional Information What We Offer: - **Competitive Hourly Pay:** Starting at $16-22/hour, based on experience, guaranteed pay increase within the first year. - **Rapid Advancement:** Potential opportunities to progress to Lead Protector, Field Supervisor, or Manager roles - **Comprehensive Training:** Paid, on-the-job training including ATSSA certification and defensive driving, with ongoing professional development - **Recognition and Rewards:** Competitive referral incentives and recognition for your dedication and hard work - **Benefits: \***Eligible 1st of the month following 30 days of employment - All traditional benefits are offered, including 3 medical plan options and 2 dental plan options, as well as Vision, and additional benefits such as Legal and Identity Shield, Accident, Critical Illness, STD and LTD - Company paid 50K in basic life insurance - Health Savings and Flex Spending Accounts Available - 401(K) - Paid Time Off - Overtime opportunities ***Seize the Opportunity to Make a Difference Every Day!*** *All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.* *AWP considers any position that requires the individual to drive an AWP vehicle and/or be present at an AWP worksite for any reason a safety sensitive position.* *AWP Safety is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
