Shot Blast Operator B

**BASIC FUNCTION:** Under moderate supervision, performs all types of shot blasting on parts, assemblies, or units. **MAJOR DUTIES:** 1. Provides consistent blasted smooth surfaces on all parts, assemblies and units. 2. Inspects quality of own work. 3. Moves parts, assemblies and units in and out of blasting area and to paint area as needed. 4. Maintains all equipment used in the shot blasting operation, completes daily maintenance checks to ensure safe operation. 5. Performs other duties as assigned by leader or supervisor. **QUALIFICATIONS:** General knowledge of shot blasting is preferred. Prior crane and forklift operation experience is also preferred. Skills may be gained through a combination of practical experience and specialized training. **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** Frequent climbing, bending, twisting and/or lifting approximately 55 pounds (and periodically heavier loads approximately 80 pounds) will be required. Wearing a respirator will also be required. **ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:** All work will be done in a timely manner within established quality standards and consistent with Company policies, priorities and needs. The individual holding this position has a broad responsibility for carrying out the objectives of the Company including supporting all company policies, meeting goals, and working as a contributing team member. Performance will be measured on the function/duties described in the position description, accomplishments during the review period, and the methods/work skills used to achieve the goals.
