Shop Hand

**Position Title**: Shop Hand **Reporting to:** Service Foreman/Manager **Department**: Service Central Power Systems & Services is a privately held company with deep roots going back to 1954. We are looking for a **Shop Hand** to help support that mission. **JOB SUMMARY** The **Shop Hand** supports technicians and keeps the shop clean and organized as directed by the Service Foreman. **RESPONSIBILITIES** - **Shop Maintenance:** Sweeping floors, cleaning workstations, and ensuring the workspace is free of hazards. - **Material Handling:** Loading, unloading, and safely moving heavy equipment, supplies, or parts. - **Inventory Management:** Organizing tools, tracking supplies, and restocking items. - **Equipment Support:** Assisting technicians by cleaning parts, fetching specific hand or power tools, and preparing work areas. - **Basic Repairs:** Performing routine maintenance on facility equipment or assisting with minor mechanical troubleshooting under supervision - Other responsibilities as designated by and at the discretion of management **Great Benefits** - Highly Competitive Pay - Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance - 401k with company match - Paid Time Off - Paid Certification Training - Opportunity for advancement **QUALIFICATIONS** - High School Diploma or GED required. A technical school certificate in related field such as Automotive/Diesel Technology, or Welding/Fabrication is a plus - Some experience in an Automotive or Diesel shop environment preferred - Valid license and clean driving record - A good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions - Familiarity with basic hand/power tools - Basic mechanical skills - Good verbal and written communications skills - Commitment to maintaining an orderly and safe working environment **WORK CONDITIONS** Physical Demands/Work Environment: *This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs. It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.
