The **Shipping Coordinator** will oversee the routing of outgoing shipments using standard procedures across different transportation modes. They will prioritize tasks and expedite shipments as required. Additionally, they will measure and weigh products, converting measurements from English to metric when necessary. The role involves completing essential documentation such as bills of lading, packing slips, ASN's (Advanced Ship Notices), and shipping alert notifications. Furthermore, they will be responsible for maintaining and storing/filing shipping documents. **Responsibilities** - Work in accordance with safety rules and actively support safety team - Maintain excellent standards for housekeeping - Adhere to Quality Management System Procedures - Review open orders - Schedule appointments with truck load carriers, calling 24 hours in advance if necessary - Create pick lists, assist in picking, scanning and shipping - Create box labels, BOL, packing slips, and stickers for each piece as necessary - Monitor inventory of shipping supplies and notify supervisor when reorder is required - Check orders against shipping or customer order requirements - Check receipts against purchase order for proper shipment, shortages, damages or defects - Receive incoming materials - Manage inventory and participate in physical counts - Read inventory reports and reconcile report to actual counts - Perform additional duties as assigned by management **Education** - High School Diploma or GED **Experience** - 3-5 years work experience in shipping setting **Knowledge, Skills, Abilities** - Data entry and keyboarding accuracy - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Planning and problem solving abilities - Ability to read a packing slip, pick list, and training material for certification on forklift - Organizational skills - Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel/Outlook and exposure to inventory software - Forklift certification **Essential Functions** - Regular and Reliable Attendance - Reading - Writing - Visual Acuity - Ascend/Descend Stairways and Platforms with Heights of up to 50+ feet - Standing for 12 hours - Walking - Bending - Twisting - Reaching - Pushing - Pulling - Lifting/Carrying up to 30 pounds (higher weights require a two-person lift) - Concentration
