Occasional weekend work may be required. POSITION SUMMARY ASCI Federal Services is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Shift Lead position supporting operations at Cherry Point MCAS. This role is responsible for supervising daily shift activities, assigning work, maintaining required staffing and qualifications, and ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely movement of customer materials. The Shift Lead works closely with the Site/Project Manager, employees, government customers, and Safety and Quality personnel. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who can balance safety, customer service, regulatory compliance, employee development, and operational performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead all shift activities in a safe, professional, and customer-focused manner.• Identify and correct unsafe acts or conditions with the goal of eliminating hazards and defects.• Establish daily work priorities and assign personnel and equipment efficiently.• Ensure complete and timely delivery of customer materials in accordance with company, client, and government requirements.• Train, coach, monitor, and motivate employees to achieve high levels of safety, service, quality, and operating integrity.• Maintain required staffing levels, operator qualifications, licenses, endorsements, certifications, and physicals.• Confirm oversize-load permits and qualified escort personnel are available before conducting applicable moves.• Monitor driver’s license and certification expiration dates and coordinate timely renewals.• Ensure employees complete required pre-hire, position-specific, recurring, and post-incident training.• Cross-train employees to maintain operational coverage and workforce qualifications.• Evaluate employee performance and provide timely, documented feedback.• Recommend or initiate appropriate promotions, transfers, coaching, or corrective action.• Proactively address employee concerns and operational issues.• Ensure compliance with delivery timelines and the Site-Specific Quality Plan.• Maintain accountability for government-furnished property, equipment, keys, and controlled work areas.• Conduct inspections and audits and maintain required records, reports, and checklists.• Develop and publish personnel shuttle schedules, routes, stops, and times as required.• Participate in incident investigations and internal or external management-system audits.• Notify the appropriate customer and company representatives of incidents.• Maintain clear and effective communication with employees, management, and government customers.• Support ASCI’s Integrated Management System and comply with all site-specific policies and procedures.• Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in materials management, equipment operations, flight-line support, transportation support, or a closely related field.• At least two years of successful supervisory experience.• High school diploma or equivalent required.• Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.• Must be a United States citizen.• Valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving history.• Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License preferred.• Passenger, hazardous-material, tanker, or combination endorsements preferred.• Oversize Load Escort certification required, or ability to obtain it within six months of hire.• Forklift certification required, or ability to obtain it within six months of hire.• Ability to pass a government-administered background investigation and obtain access to government systems and worksites.
