Sheet Metal Mechanic

**SUMMARY: The Sheet Metal Mechanic** supports Contracting Operations by performing sheet metal installation. Responsible for assisting the team in other areas if sheet metal work is not available. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Install sheet metal products, such as ductwork and ventilation systems, ensuring proper fit and alignment - Plan, layout, and fabricate Ductwork parts, components, and assemblies - Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication techniques, soldering of water lines, brazing of refrigeration lines - Must be familiar with various HVAC equipment such as air handlers, package units, condensers, coils, exhaust fans, etc. - Install gas lines and refrigeration lines as needed - Provide sheet metal instruction and assist in the training of the sheet metal assistants - Must be able to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. - Measuring, marking, cutting, bending, and shaping sheet metal according to blueprints and specifications. - Attend training to be updated on industry practices as needed - Experienced in the use of a variety of power and hand tools such as drills, saws, hammers, shears, seamers, etc. - Able to climb ladders, work on roofs, and work from a variety of aerial work platforms - Demonstrate familiarity with HVAC system components such as supply and return, liquid and suctions lines, and exhaust ventilation - Assist in rigging and setting of HVAC equipment - Work with direction from on-site installation foreman - Must be able to work at heights from a ladder or aerial work platform - Follow all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). - Assists other team members with job duties as necessary - Ability to travel to the customer’s locations - Ability to work weekends and/or evenings as necessary **SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:** - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) - Three to five years related experience and/or training - Two years of related trade school, preferred - Equivalent combination of education and experience - Proficiency with computer devices (including laptops, tablets and smart phones) and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Apple iOS software. - Ability to pass drug screening. - Ability to prove US employment eligibility. - Must possess a valid driver’s license. - Refrigeration training or certification, preferred **PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE** The physical demands and environmental exposure outlined below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
