Service Technician Diesel

**Job Summary** Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in vehicles and equipment. Performs routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Collaborates with customers and team members to provide quality service and support. **Essential Functions** • Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment. • Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment that operates throughout the plant to maximize performance and limit downtime. • Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors. Perform repairs to address problems when necessary. • Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools in a safe manner throughout the shop and plant. • Document and Record Information. • Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed daily and monthly regarding all mobile equipment. • Enter and maintain service reports for all the mobile equipment in written or electronic form. • Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles throughout the plant to ensure production continues efficiently. • May assist mechanics in vehicle repair and change tires as necessary. **Critical Competencies** • Communication - Ability to clearly and effectively convey information, ideas, and messages to others in both written and verbal formats; can express one's thoughts clearly but also demonstrate active listening, understands the needs of the audience, and adapts the message to ensure it is understood. • Safety Awareness - Ability to recognize, understand, and adhere to safety protocols and procedures in the workplace; proactive in identifying potential hazards, taking steps to mitigate risks, and ensuring that both personal and collective safety are maintained in all tasks and environments. • Attention to Detail- Ability to thoroughly and accurately complete tasks, ensuring that no aspects or elements are overlooked; meticulous and precise when handling information, performing tasks, or delivering work, and is critical in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the results. • Collaboration - Ability to work effectively with others to achieve common goals by fostering teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect. Ability to identify signs of equipment malfunction, understand and report them to the maintenance team. • Problem Solving- identify, analyze, and resolve work-related issues efficiently and effectively using practical knowledge, experience, and hands-on skills. This involves identifying the problem, diagnosing the cause, finding practical solutions, implementing fixes, and adapting to unexpected challenges. ### Responsibilities **Education** • High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of training and work experience. **Experience** • Three (3) years experience driving commercially licensed vehicles preferred • Two (3) years experience driving ready mix concrete trucks preferred • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a tanker endorsement **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** • Must have sufficient level of education to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature relating to products and vehicles. • Must have excellent driving skills and the ability to maintain satisfactory customer and public relations in performance of duties.Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred. • Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and mainten…
